QA - Quality Assurance Technician

Position: Quality Assurance Technician (QA) Full Time

Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm,   Monday - Friday, Sat. Sun. –OFF

Anticipated start date:  

Minimum Credentials: Degree in Food Science

Main Responsibilities:

Ø  Schedule and conduct internal quality assurance audits

  • Ø  Perform process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation and storage functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks, water activity testing, net weight checks, package integrity checks and organoleptic checks

Smokehouse Operator

Skilled Butcher, Smokehouse Operator.

Must have vocational training and certification.

Full time Mon-Fri $14.88-$18.00/hr, earnings will depend on experience and training.

Job Purpose – Responsible for smokehouses, their operations and the functioning of without any defects, such that products are being cooked properly following the strict cooking guidelines of  CFIA in conjunction with Nossack Fine Meats HACCP plans. This position will be reporting to the Supervisor of the raw side also the Technical Manager at Nossack Fine Meats.

Responsibilities of Smokehouse Operator:

  1. Organizing of the smokehouse based on production schedule.
  2. Loading and Unloading of smokehouses.
  3. Cleaning of smoke generators.
  4. Preparing smokehouse for the next Production day.
  5. Preparation of wood logs.
  6. Follow product segregation procedure for smokehouses
  7. Constant monitoring and recording of temperatures to ensure compliance with HACCP plan(s) and consistency in product quality.
  8. Troubleshoot smokehouses and adjust programs in case of a deviation of the process.
  9. Ensures accurate programming of smokehouses.
  10. Ensures that temperature hand probes are calibrated prior to usage based on existing procedures.
  11. Check smokehouse functionality on a daily bases and report any defects to the Supervisor raw side.
 

Grinder Operator

Skilled Butcher, Grinder Operator.

Must have vocational training and certification.

Job Purpose - Grinder Operator is responsible for the operations and equipment of the Grinder, and the functioning of without any defects, such that products are being grinded properly following the Nossack Fine Meats HACCP plans. This position will be reporting to the Supervisor of the raw side. 

Responsibilities of Grinder Operator:

  1. Organize grinding room and grinding room schedule
  2. Ensure batch weighing is done properly and aligned with recipe sheet
  3. Ensure that meat is thawed properly in relation with defrost schedule
  4. Ensure that existing SOP's, recipe worksheets, machinery settings are followed accordingly to the current documentations and guidelines.
  5. Organize grinding room based on production schedule.
  6. Ensure that traffic flow and activities in your area are not compromising efficiency.
  7. Assemble and dismantle grinder according to procedure.
  8. Monitor and record any meat quality variances and deviations and report them to your Supervisor or Manager.
  9. Fill out paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  10. Ensure proper labelling of work in progress (products sitting in buggies) according to established procedures.

Responsibilities and duties include: Verifying and implementing changes to the HACCP plans and CCP's. The HACCP floor monitoring of GMP's, SOP's, personal hygiene, product handling, CCP's, and pre-operational sanitation is an essential part of this position. Responsible for product sampling, testing and analysis to ensure sanitation standards are met.

Additional Skills: Good working knowledge of CFIA regulations would be an asset. HACCP Facilitator also looks after the Filing, Orientations, reflects on the floor changes in HACCP & Pre-Reqs, including implementation to changes on the floor.
